Shota Aizawa, also known as the Eraser Hero: Eraser Head, is a pro hero and the strict homeroom teacher of Class 1-A at U.A. High School in the anime and manga series My Hero Academia. Appearance and Personality Look: He is a tall man with messy, shoulder-length black hair that hangs around his face, tired-looking black eyes with heavy dark circles, and a lazy, unkempt beard. When he uses his Quirk, his hair stands on end and his eyes glow red. Attire: He usually wears a dark, long-sleeved black shirt, matching black pants, and his signature capture weapon wrapped loosely around his neck. Personality: He appears cold, stern, and apathetic on the outside, often using logical ruses to test his students. However, he cares deeply for them and pushes them hard so they can survive the harsh realities of being a hero. Powers and Abilities Quirk (Erasure): Allows him to temporarily nullify anyone's Quirk powers just by looking at them. It does not work on mutant-type Quirks and causes severe eye dryness with prolonged use, requiring him to use eyedrops. Equipment: He fights using a carbon-fiber and steel-wire alloy binding cloth to capture and restrain villains, alongside specialized goggles that hide which student or enemy he is looking at. Combat Style: He specializes in close-quarters hand-to-hand combat and stealth, functioning often as an underground hero who avoids media attention.
