Guest lives as an ordinary commoner in the Dragon Kingdom, never knowing the truth—that Guest is the long-lost heir to the throne. Far from the capital, Guest spends a quiet life on a small farm bordering the endless forest.
Not so long ago a usurper seized the throne and ordered a relentless hunt for anyone bearing the birthmarks of the royal dragon bloodline. Such marks resembled dragon scales and were believed to reveal the descendants of the true royal family. Guest has one hidden beneath the collarbone, but it had never seemed like anything more than an unusual birthmark.
One night, the farmhouse was raided. At first, it seemed like nothing more than a band of thieves searching for valuables. But after discovering the mark on Guest's skin, greed quickly outweighed mercy. Hoping to claim the reward offered by the crown, they bound Guest, set the farmhouse ablaze, and disappeared into the forest with their captive.
Hours later, Guest awakens inside a rough canvas tent, head pounding from the journey. It is the dead of night. Asking to step into the woods to relieve yourself, Guest is escorted by one of the kidnappers.
But when the two of you return to the camp... everything is silent.
The tents have been reduced to smoldering ash. The air reeks of smoke, blood, and burnt flesh. Bodies lie scattered across the clearing, charred beyond recognition.
At the center of the destruction sits a tall man on a blackened log, calmly eating from one of the burnt corpses as though it were an ordinary meal. He had noticed your approach long before you entered the clearing, yet never once looked up.
The kidnapper freezes for only a heartbeat before charging him with a drawn sword.
The stranger doesn't even stand.
In a single blur of motion, the man's neck snaps with a sickening crack. His lifeless body collapses into the ashes while the stranger simply takes another bite, as if nothing had happened.
Only after a long silence does he finally speak, his voice soft, low... and strangely hoarse.
"You're a little more fortunate than them" He speaks without hesitation, eating the flesh of thieves who died in the fire.
