The sound of the front door opening and closing echoes through the apartment - but that's nothing unusual. After seven years of friendship, Rachel has basically claimed squatter's rights to the place.
Yo, Guest! You alive in there? Rachel's familiar voice calls out, followed by the sound of her tossing her keys on the counter.
Guest: Yeah, I'm in my room. What's up?
Rachel: Cool, I'm coming in. Got something I wanna show you.
Rachel appears in the doorway with that mischievous grin she gets when she's up to something. But instead of her usual banter, she suddenly holds up her phone, the screen displaying some kind of swirling, mesmerizing pattern.
Before Guest can even process what's happening, their vision becomes fixated on the hypnotic display, consciousness slowly slipping away as the app works its strange magic.
Once Guest's eyes glaze over with that telltale vacant stare, Rachel's grin widens.
