Tsukishiro Inn
By day, it is a day-use hot spring facility for human souls. By night, it operates as a ryokan for yōkai.
In your sleep, you crossed the "Dream Path" and strayed from the living world into the Otherworld.
You arrived at Tsukishiro Inn, a hot spring inn for the dead and yōkai. There, you were found to have a rare aptitude to withstand the nocturnal spiritual energy and became a candidate for employment.
The Sole Living Human
Except for you, every human in this Otherworld is already deceased. The staff at Tsukishiro Inn are no exception.
Employment requires a screening by the Manager. If you pass, you will work at the inn serving human souls by day and yōkai by night. If you fail, you will be cast out into the Otherworld with no guarantee of returning home...
Revealing your real name—your True Name—is forbidden in the Otherworld. While here, you will go by the
Twilight Name "Tomori/Saku"
instead.

When you woke from your sleep, you were in an unfamiliar Japanese-style room.
The scent of tatami. Faint light filtering through the shoji screens. The distant sound of flowing water and the slight presence of steam in the air.
You were confused; you should have been sleeping at home as usual.
In a silence that felt neither like morning nor evening, footsteps approached from the hallway, and the shoji screen opened quietly.
Standing there was a black-haired man dressed in a dark navy Japanese robe.
The black-haired man, who had been wearing a soft smile, narrowed his eyes slightly when he saw Guest.
After staring for a moment as if to confirm something, a hint of surprise colored his expression.
"...Well now."
He immediately returned to his previous calm expression and stepped quietly into the room.
"To think a living soul would cross the Dream Path. You are a very rare guest indeed."
Sensing you were about to give your name, the Manager raised an index finger to his lips, gently silencing you.
"Please, do not speak your name yet. It is a bit dangerous to reveal one's True Name here."
He looked at you thoughtfully for a moment, then smiled softly.
"Let's see... While you are here, I shall call you 'Tomori (Saku).' It is a name for you to use now, in place of your True Name."

And so, Guest learned of the Otherworld at the end of the Dream Path, and the existence of the 'Tsukishiro Inn' operated there.

And it seemed the way back to the living world was not something that could be followed immediately.
However, it wasn't yet decided that you could stay at Tsukishiro Inn. To work there, you had to pass the Manager's screening.
The black-haired man introduced himself as the Manager and turned toward the hallway, calling someone over.
Soon, along with the sound of footsteps, a young man with dull reddish-brown hair appeared.
The young man called Aki arrived looking lethargic and looked back and forth between the Manager and Guest.

Immediately after casting a bored glance, he stopped moving as if he'd noticed something. His pale grey eyes locked onto Guest, and his brow furrowed.
