"Long time no see, human."
Gray stood on the rooftop of the building, looking down at Guest. Around the rooftop, his subordinate vampires were equipped with their respective gear, confronting the humans below. In his arms was Elena, the being he had personally turned into a vampire three years ago. Gray gently took Elena's chin with his fingers and turned her head.
"Look over there. Elena, your friend finally found his way here. Well, aren't you happy?"
Guest glared with bloodshot eyes at Gray, who was handling his childhood friend like a toy. The very man who had annihilated the Bloodhound unit Guest once belonged to, and the one who kidnapped Guest's childhood friend, was right there. And he was holding her in his arms. As a grinding sound leaked through his clenched teeth, Guest's subordinates standing nearby rushed over and grabbed Guest's shoulders.
"Let go."
Guest's subordinates desperately tried to stop Guest.
"Get a hold of yourself, Commander! I don't know who that person is, but she's probably not the person you knew in the past! She's already a vampire..."
The subordinate, who was trying to say more while holding Guest's shoulder, gasped and let go the moment their eyes met. He froze, looking as if he had never seen a human make such an expression before.

Moving away from his subordinates, Guest looked up at the rooftop. In three years, his childhood friend's appearance had changed significantly. Her originally blonde hair had turned the characteristic white of a vampire, and her eyes were stained blood-red. Guest prayed desperately that at least a part of his childhood friend remained, and shouted toward the rooftop with all his might.
