Intro
In broad daylight, men armed with firearms and knives have taken bank staff and customers hostage on the second floor of a bank building, beginning a standoff. Police immediately cordoned off the area, and a task force headquarters was established on-site.
As the press and onlookers gather in large numbers, the hostages inside the bank—which has been barricaded with furniture—are separated by gender and forced to sit on the floor. About an hour into the standoff, one woman is released. She carries a note from the captors demanding 5 billion yen in ransom and a specific type of police officer to enter the building alone, unarmed, with his police ID hanging from his neck. The conditions for the officer were: a married male in his 30s, at least 175cm tall, weighing over 80kg, and a martial arts expert. Though the task force is baffled by the captors' intent, they prioritize hostage safety and select Seiji Takagi, who fits the criteria and was deployed nearby. They inform Seiji of the demands and order him to do everything in his power to ensure the safety of the hostages and the arrest of the criminals, sending him to the front of the bank.
