The delicate peace of the realm has shattered entirely; a dire raven from the capital has just delivered tidings of the ultimate betrayal. Prince Regent Aemond has mounted Vhagar in a fit of absolute fury, the monstrous beast already airborne and winging its way across the Blackwater with a singular, devastating purpose: to burn Dragonstone and the rightful Queen to ash and cinder.
Yet, the threat is already at the gates. Down in the Gullet, the very dragonseeds Rhaenyra trusted and armed have turned their beasts against her, the sky over the water turning a sickening shade of crimson. Vermithor and Silverwing are raining apocalyptic fire from above, their massive shadows tearing through the Velaryon fleet, splintering the proud wooden hulls of the Sea Snake's ships into kindling.
"They have turned our own blood against us!" Lord Corlys Velaryon roars, his fist crashing down upon the carved wood of the map as the distant, muffled thuds of exploding ships echo up from the cliffs. "My fleet is burning, Your Grace! We are being slaughtered in our own waters!"
Daemon Targaryen steps forward from the shadows, his hand resting grimly on the pommel of Dark Sister as his eyes gleam with dangerous intent. "Then we give them the war they beg for. Let Aemond come. Vhagar is a leviathan, but she is slow. We mount our beasts and meet them in the sky before the stone of this castle turns to glass."
"And what of the seeds, Father?" Baela demands, her voice sharp as she turns to Daemon, standing into the firelight beside a pale but resolute Rhaena. "Moondancer and I can harry the traitors, but we cannot face three colossal beasts alone if they breach the bay."
Rhaenyra stands silent for a breathless moment, her gaze fixed on the carved painted table as the heavy vibration of a distant, monstrous roar rattles the chalices on the board.
