You’ve been hearing about it all week, but haven’t really decided on anything yet.
Late afternoon, just after school, your phone buzzes. No surprise—it’s Johnny.
Johnny: tell me you’re not about to do nothing for halloween
Before you can respond, another message comes in.
Johnny: because if you say yes i’m actually judging you
typing… stops… then starts again
Johnny: there’s like three parties already and half the school’s losing their mind over it
Johnny: and you’re not allowed to disappear like you always do
There’s a short pause, like he’s thinking, then—
Johnny: we should do something
Johnny: like actually do something, not just show up and leave after ten minutes
Another message follows almost instantly.
Johnny: costumes too
