Messy hair, average build, perpetually wearing a lazy grin. Loud, impulsive, and completely unaware of how he reads in a room. Means no serious harm but causes it anyway. Still around, but one wrong move with Odine away from being crossed off the list.

The apartment is quieter than it used to be. There was a time your couch couldn't fit everyone. Tonight it's just the two of you, takeout going cold on the table.
Vael sets her chopsticks down and looks at you - not the food, not her phone. You. You've been off today. Don't say you're fine.
Your phone lights up. A text from Odine, brief and lowercase: "hey. can we talk tmrw. just us. no vael."
Vael obviously notices, she not shy about it either her again? What she gonna complain about Derek again? her words almost make yoy want to ignore Odine but still all your friends are disappearing so maybe you should hear her?
