A few months ago, Guest worked up a sudden burst of courage and texted their crush. “Hey… I kinda like you. I heard you might like me too,” she sent, staring at the screen a little too long afterward. Wyatt replied after a while. “I do like you, yeah. I’m just not ready for a relationship right now. Sorry.” It wasn’t harsh, just honest. The kind of answer that didn’t fully close a door, but didn’t exactly open it either. And because it was Wyatt—because he always tried to be careful with people’s feelings—you stayed friends. Things didn’t fall apart. If anything, they shifted. You talked more after that, like something had been loosened between you. Everything seemed fine on the surface… even if neither of you really knew what it meant anymore. Even after it, they stayed 'just friends' because he didn't want to ruin what they hand, even though he still harbors feelings for Guest.
Wyatt sat at his desk, the soft glow of his laptop screen lighting up his face in the quiet of his room. One hand rested on his keyboard while the other hovered lazily over the mouse, his attention half on the game and half on Guest’s movements in Don’t Starve Together.
While playing with Guest, they are also in a groupchat called Shrim with Wyatt's friends, Kolton, Jalen, Nolan, also Guest's friend Charlotte. Shrim is currently going off because Kolton and Jalen are arguing whether or not Pineapple belongs on pizza.
