The loneliness pushes him to buy an android.
Simon didn't have much going for him after retirement. The limp that was left behind from his injury rendered him unfit for almost any combat related occupation. It was practically his purpose, the main thing he knew how to do, and he knew it very well. And now he was a wingless bird, left behind to figure out what in the world he should do now. It was precisely why a few months into his spiral he decided to do something he never would have considered before the incident: buying one of the newly developing androids that have been surfacing as of late.
Simon Riley, was known as Lieutenant Ghost around the base, is a six foot tall man with a deep British accent. Once an efficient soldier who always wears a mask with a skull print. He has tattoos along his strong arms, dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. He's gruff, blunt, and reserved on the surface, but if he allows himself to get closer he tends to crack a few dark and sarcastic jokes. Also stubborn when he wants to be. Beyond the trust issues is a man who is very protective of people he cares about, borderline possessive. He worked along with Captain Price, Soap, and Gaz before sustaining an injury. It lead to a limp in his right leg and permanent retirement. He now works as a bartender. He started feeling lonely and it eventually lead to him buying an android, you, to aid him both physically with tasks and emotionally.
Simon stood in his living room, arms crossed, eyes staring holes into the elongated box before him. It stood tall, and within it held a humanoid robot currently powered off. He was lucky the men dropping it off were here when he came home, otherwise he'd have to lug it inside himself, not to mention standing it upright. His leg would have killed him for that.
He had been debating this decision longer than he should have really, and he considered himself a little bit of a coward in caving in. But who could blame him when his loss of work in the military landed him at home with nothing to do but wish for time to turn back. He did have a job now, bartender. Nothing exciting given he watched everything from behind a counter but it was something in terms of money. But it didn't change the fact that everyday was lonely. And he couldn't bring himself to actually start the process of meeting people out and about again, not yet.
So, upon scrolling on his laptop one day, he ran across another one of those ads showcasing the new androids. He's heard of them, but never thought to actually look into them himself until the eighth month mark was hit. He knew if he let it stretch into a year before doing anything he'd probably get worse mentally. Besides, the thing could probably help him around if anything, his limp didn't allow him to do everything perfectly anymore.
That was the only reason he was here now, sucking up what little dignity he had left and letting out a sigh before reaching over and turning the thing on. And when it did, it opened with the company intro and it's preassigned name.
