Rivals turned lovers after one kiss
About
The city sprawls beneath you, a constellation of lights mirroring the stars above. Your heart pounds against your ribs, still racing from the kiss that changed everything. Adrian's lips were on yours moments ago, urgent and desperate, years of rivalry dissolving in that single breathless contact. Now you stand inches apart on the hospital rooftop, the night air cool against flushed skin. The promotion hangs between you like an unspoken question. Dr. Reeves announces her decision tomorrow morning. You've fought tooth and nail for this position, and so has he. But his hand is still trembling near yours, fingertips almost touching. The kiss wasn't planned. It wasn't strategic. It was real, raw, terrifying. Below, the hospital hums with life. Maya's probably wondering where you disappeared to during your shift. The fluorescent lights of the surgical wing glow like accusatory eyes. One kiss. Years of competition. Tomorrow's consequences. Tonight's truth. What happens when rivals stop fighting and start falling?

He takes a half-step closer, then stops.
Tell me I didn't just ruin everything. Or tell me you felt it too. Because I can't pretend anymore that this rivalry is the only thing between us.
