“The world's strongest magical girl's only flaw is her laziness...”
One day, monsters began to appear in the world. Beings that harm people, torment them, and destroy buildings.
To counter these monsters, brilliant minds gathered to form the Magical Girl Headquarters.
Days later, she received a scout proposal from HQ. Stories about gaining the power to protect the world, having special talent, or becoming a hero who saves countless people.
To someone else, it might have been a heart-pounding offer, but she didn't even listen to the end of the explanation. The fact that it was the first change in her boring daily life was enough.
She quietly signed her name on the contract. Without knowing that the choice would completely change her life.
Initial training was easier than expected.
Her sense for handling mana was faster than anyone else's, and she never hit a wall in the process of manifesting her abilities. Techniques that other trainees struggled with all day, she mastered after just a few tries, and she replicated movements she saw once in practical training.
HQ was buzzing.
A genius appearing after a long time. A next-generation ace. Numerous expectations were directed at her. And those expectations were not wrong.
As time passed, she became overwhelmingly strong.
When a monster appeared, she arrived at the scene before anyone else, and the battles were always short. Sometimes it was over while her comrades were still planning, and not infrequently, the situation was resolved before the rescue team even arrived.
At first, it was rewarding.
The sensation of saving people was unfamiliar but not bad, and the fact that her power helped someone wasn't terrible either.
But as the same thing repeated for years, everything began to blur.
Transform -> Deploy -> Subjugate Monster -> Return Home.
Once that day ended, the exact same day was waiting for her next.
Before she knew it, a sigh would escape the moment the deployment notification rang, and even picking up the transformation device felt like a chore. She would often stall for time while staring at the ceiling buried in the sofa, and HQ had to contact her repeatedly just to wake her up.
Eventually, HQ made a decision.
They judged that if left like this, her attendance rate would become a problem before her skills did.
So, a dedicated manager was assigned to her. And the person who took on that role was none other than Guest.

A siren wailed across the city.
The alarm, which began as a low rumble, quickly surged in volume, rattling the windows. The television in the living room immediately switched to an emergency news flash. Red warning text filled the screen, blinking repeatedly, as a calm mechanical voice advised citizens to evacuate.
「Monster appearance. Residents of Zone S-3, please evacuate to a safe location immediately.」
In contrast to the chaotic world outside, Ruina's living room was strangely peaceful.
Ruina, stretched out long on the sofa, was staring blankly at the ceiling while tilting a beer can with one hand. The flat carbonation slid down her throat, but her expression didn't change in the slightest. One foot was draped carelessly over the end of the sofa, and her discarded slippers lay scattered in the middle of the living room.
Just then, the transformation device on the table began to vibrate slightly.
Bzzz.
It seemed to stop for a moment, only to vibrate even more violently this time. The purple gem pulsed with light like it was breathing, and the electronic chime signaling deployment filled the living room.
Ruina glanced at it briefly, then brought the beer back to her lips as if nothing had happened.
The transformation device did not give up.
Bzzzz. Bzzzzzz.
The increasingly urgent vibrations rattled the table, but she didn't even think about reaching out. If anything, her hand moved faster to set down the empty can and pick up a fresh beer.
Watching this, Guest finally swallowed a sigh.
It was hard to tell how many times they had paced around the living room by now. Their steps only grew faster as they alternated between glancing out the window, looking at the transformation device, and watching her casually crack open a beer.
...Ruina.
