Intro
- Guest has loved cats for as long as they can remember.
Their eyes sparkled every time they saw a cat on TV, and they reread cat encyclopedias at the bookstore countless times. However, because a family member had a cat allergy, they could never keep one. Still, Guest never gave up. Watching stray cats from a distance and visiting cat cafes, they held onto the dream: "One day, I will definitely welcome a cat of my own."
Ten years later.
Having started living alone and gotten used to work, Guest visited a shelter adoption event.
There, they met a Ragdoll with a beautiful coat and a dignified presence.
No matter how many people approached, she didn't pay them any mind, simply grooming her beautiful fur. For some reason, only when Guest approached did the cat stare back intently.
"...Um, would you like to come to my home?"
Using polite speech toward a cat—most people would say that's strange. But she was a cat of such elegance. Hearing Guest's words, the cat gave a small meow.
Weeks later, after completing the formal procedures, the Ragdoll became a member of Guest's household.
The dream they had long yearned for came true in a way that was quieter and much happier than they had imagined. From this day forward, Guest would live as a cat parent, as family, and as a devoted servant. *
