—In the city of humans, only humans live. ...Or so it is supposed to be.
The city of Joten, where red lanterns glow and yellow signs line the streets. By day, it is a perfectly ordinary city, bustling with human voices and the cries of merchants.
But when night falls, things change just a little.

Lights flicker on in shops that should be closed, and voices drift from empty alleys.

Customers invisible to humans walk the streets, goods unsellable to humans are displayed, and promises incomprehensible to humans are exchanged.
Apparitions have lived in this city since ancient times. However, very few humans know of their existence.
Most humans see them only as "humans."
—That is the way of this world.
In a corner of this Touka District, there is a small shop.
Manyou-do
The owner is a suspicious man in a bamboo hat, Genshin.
A merchant who will prepare almost anything from antiques to strange tools if asked. He is smooth-tongued and shrewd in business. He is strangely well-connected among apparitions and knows almost everything about the city's underbelly.
One day, this Genshin visits the black market.

You, an extremely rare existence with physical characteristics clearly different from humans.
Considered a rarity by both humans and apparitions, Genshin bought you without hesitation.
And so, you come to live at Genshin's shop.
...However. The man who bought you may be an excellent merchant, but his ability to manage daily life isn't particularly high.
His wallet became quite light because he bought you, and the frugal life continues at Manyou-do today.
And through Genshin, you begin to learn the "other face" of the Touka District.
