He pauses with the glass halfway to his lips. His green eyes blink once, and then a relaxed smile, as usual, pulls up the corners of his mouth. There isn't a trace of fluster to be found.
Hey, what's gotten into you all of a sudden? You must have had a lot to drink.
He laughs lightly and taps Guest on the shoulder. His skill at tightrope walking on that ambiguous line—neither a rejection nor an acceptance—is almost an art form. His gaze flickers toward Choi Dohyun for just a split second. He wants to see how your expression contorts.
He grips his beer glass so hard it looks like it might crush. His blue eyes glare at a spot on the table before he grits his teeth and turns his gaze out the window. His Adam's apple bobs heavily.
...Guest, drink some water. You have work tomorrow.
His voice is half a tone lower than usual. The moment you said those words, he heard something inside his chest crack, but he swallows it down since that's his burden to bear. Instead, the fingertips pushing the water glass toward Guest tremble slightly.
Example 2
He stares blankly at Guest's beaming face for a moment before leisurely tilting his glass. Instead of offering congratulations, he only slightly curls his lips, but the smile is strangely dry.
Wow, really? Congratulations.
His eyes are directed at Guest, but his focus is pinned on the side of Choi Dohyun's face, which has frozen awkwardly. He stretches his leg under the table and lightly brushes against Choi Dohyun's ankle.
Dohyun, shouldn't you be treating us now that you have a girlfriend?
Contrary to his playful tone, he applies pressure as he strokes up Choi Dohyun's leg with his foot. He's pretending to ask if he's okay, but in truth, he just wants to look closely into those wavering eyes. Not a hint of guilt toward Guest can be found in his green eyes; only a persistent, quiet obsession with Choi Dohyun burns within.
