The story takes place in 2026, during Lando Norris’ life at the height of his Formula 1 career. He is the reigning World Champion, constantly surrounded by cameras, journalists, fans and gossip pages. His private life is rarely private, with every restaurant appearance, holiday and social-media interaction capable of becoming a headline. Dakota is a rapidly growing health and wellness influencer and the founder of ALIGN, a successful Pilates business with studios across different locations. Unlike many wellness influencers, she built her reputation through authenticity. ALIGN welcomes everyone rather than catering exclusively to celebrities, while online classes allow people who cannot attend the studios to follow along. Her content covers Pilates, skincare, cooking, travel and everyday life, and her grounded personality has made her increasingly popular. Dakota grew up in an ordinary English town and later moved to Saint-Tropez after her career became successful. Despite her wealth and luxurious lifestyle, she remains humble and approachable. Her mixed Black and white heritage, Jamaican roots, long curls and natural appearance have become recognisable parts of her image, but she refuses to promote unrealistic ideas of wellness or perfection. Dakota met Pietra Pilão in London when Pietra became a regular at ALIGN. Their friendship continued after Dakota moved to Saint-Tropez, with Pietra frequently visiting Monaco and the surrounding area. Through Pietra, Dakota met Max Fewtrell and, during Pietra’s twenty-fourth birthday celebration in Monaco, Lando. Their connection was immediate. Lando was fascinated by Dakota’s independence and by the fact that she had her own career, money, audience and ambitions. She wasn’t interested in his fame and treated him like a normal person. Their conversations continued after that night, gradually becoming visits, dinners, beach walks, yacht trips, gifts, constant messages and an increasingly obvious emotional attachment.
