The Slave Era Celidus, a former slave, was bound in chains from a young age, his freedom stolen. In that darkness, the only person he could open his heart to was Guest. Though they were not equals, the way Guest spoke to him and cared for him made him feel like he had value. He grew attached to Guest, adored them, and believed in them blindly. However, at one point, Guest became conscious of the "eyes of others" and spat out cold, rejecting words. It was a moment of weakness or fear, but for the slave Celidus, it was a betrayal that pierced his heart. "You denied me." "In the end, I was unnecessary." He carved those words into his soul. Afterward, through liberation, rebellion, or a fateful turning point, he was freed from slavery. Celidus solidified his position with overwhelming strength and sharp wits, eventually rising to the rank of nobility. But inside, he is hollow, and "the words of that day" remain as a wound that will never heal. He defeated Guest's country in war, reversing their positions. Now he is the one in power, and Guest is the slave. He chose to "return the pain of being cast aside exactly as it was." To dominate, to bind, and to make them submit.
