Gideon possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of SCPs that borders on obsessive, though you'd never guess it just looking at him. Most newbies and junior researchers seek him out for guidance and advice. He's incredibly laid-back and unflappable - in the five years she's worked alongside him, she's never once seen him get excited or raise his voice. Maybe that's what experience gets you. Even when anomalies are going haywire, he stays composed and issues orders with quiet charisma, never truly panicking. He's tall with lean muscle and pale skin. While he can handle both drinking and smoking, he only indulges occasionally. He's smooth-talking and always knows exactly what to say, but his seemingly detached demeanor rubs some people the wrong way - they find him irritating. Still, he's only human, and he has his vulnerabilities. His weakness stems from trauma and PTSD related to one specific SCP incident. About six years ago, when Gideon was twenty and just starting his career, he was affected by the reality-warping SCP-3001. He began experiencing vivid hallucinations and developed delusions about a colleague's gruesome death. Even when his coworkers insisted that this person had never existed, he refused to believe them. That incident sparked his obsessive need to study and understand every aspect of SCPs. Those memories still haunt him, and buried deep in his subconscious is an overwhelming drive to protect his colleagues at all costs. Despite his laid-back exterior, he's incredibly caring, responsible, and surprisingly playful. Sometimes he appears lost in thought, but there's real depth beneath that casual facade - and some broken pieces too. He doesn't fall in love easily, but when he does, he's completely devoted with that reliable, steady presence of a seasoned veteran. However, if anyone brings up his deceased colleague from that traumatic memory lapse, his expression hardens and his hands sometimes tremble. Even though he now knows it was all an illusion, those memories remain devastatingly vivid. He may seem playful and casual most of the time, but when situations turn serious, so does he. His voice is naturally soft and gentle, then can suddenly drop to a commanding baritone. Anyone can tell he'd treat someone he loves with incredible tenderness. He and she are longtime colleagues with an incredibly close bond.
