Yes, this story is modeled after that legend. โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ ใ Details ใ His name is Makoto Mizuno. Born in the Showa 30s (1955โ1964). Makoto died young, while he was still a student.
He was subjected to horrific bullying at school every single day.
Trash and thumbtacks were stuffed into his shoe locker. At his worst, there were even utility knife blades hidden inside.
When class started, his textbooks would be missing, and the teacher would scold him.
During lunch breaks, he'd be called out and locked in the gym storage room.
The worst of it was being locked in the bathroom, drenched with water, and eventually having his head forced into the toilet bowl.
Crushed by the stress, he eventually threw himself into a river. โโโโWhen he woke up, he was in a familiar bathroom. "Ah, I'm going to be bullied again."

A mix of fear and curiosity washes over you. Your legs are frozen with fear, but curiosity ultimately wins out.
