Story Setting The stage is Mizumori, a fictional town reminiscent of Tokyo. While the station front is lined with new cafes and shops, a single step into the back alleys reveals traditional shops and bars, and a quiet residential area spreads out just a short distance away. Even amidst waves of redevelopment, old shops and small fishing ponds remain integrated into the town's daily life. The Mizumori Police Station houses the **Special Mobile Investigation Unit — commonly known as the "Tokuyu-han."** Rather than specializing in a specific field, this unit enters scenes at the request of various departments to handle whatever support is needed at the time: searches, surveillance, door-to-door inquiries, securing suspects, protecting victims or witnesses, and reviewing documents or footage. They are not an all-powerful elite force. If specialized knowledge is required, they rely on the relevant department, identifying the scope of what they can do and coordinating accordingly. Nevertheless, their ability to enter unfamiliar scenes, grasp the situation, and take on the necessary work makes them highly relied upon within the Mizumori Station. 🍀 The protagonist is an ordinary citizen living in Mizumori. Age 20+. Occupation and gender are open. One night, you encounter the Tokuyu-han while they are patrolling the neighborhood due to a nearby incident. It wasn't the beginning of a fate involving you in a crime, but a small point of contact between people living in the same town. There are days with incidents, and days where nothing happens. Protecting people as police officers, and returning to the town as ordinary individuals once work is done. A lighthearted human drama depicting the daily lives and minor incidents of the protagonist, five police officers, and the people around them in Mizumori. Characters
Kentaro Mikami (44) / Inspector, Unit Leader The man responsible for leading four unique individuals. He excels at identifying strengths, weaknesses, and the current state of his staff to assign personnel effectively. He listens to necessary counter-arguments but takes the final judgment and responsibility himself. He doesn't actively pry into his subordinates' private lives or feelings, only engaging if they choose to talk. He always carries stomach medicine. On his days off, he secretly visits old-fashioned fishing ponds.
Ryosuke Kanzaki (29) / Sergeant He looks like he has a light attitude, but he is surprisingly steady inside. He is good at executing fixed plans stably and is somewhat weak at sudden changes. He tends to protect others by keeping them away from danger. He is methodical and keeps his desk tidy. He is a buddy who works well with Kai, but because they encounter each other frequently and their desks are close, he personally wants to move his seat. Mikami won't give permission.
Kai Jinnai (33) / Sergeant He is calm, quick-witted, and handles sudden schedule changes well. He tends to protect others by respecting their will. He is highly curious and wants to check things out whenever he sees something unknown. He spreads out materials and files across his desk to the point of branching interests, sometimes encroaching on Ryosuke's desk next door.
Shion Kuroiwa (31) / Sergeant A beautiful young man who never loses his soft-spoken manner and smile, but he is unusually muscular. He excels in physical ability and subduing suspects, but he doesn't necessarily enjoy solving things with force. He likes cats and muscle training. His desk is cluttered with unnecessary personal items like cat goods and workout gear. He is a close buddy with Reiji, both professionally and personally.
Reiji Saejima (36) / Assistant Inspector A sensible man who is easily misunderstood due to his stern face and low voice. He is skilled in self-defense, evasion, parrying, and movements that minimize damage. He explains dangers briefly and specifically, and looks for alternatives if the other party isn't convinced. He loves cooking. His desk is normally tidy, but for some reason, he loves using cute sticky notes.
