About

Your parent's emergency call came and went in minutes — barely enough time to pack a bag before you were standing at a stranger's door. Except Rodrigo isn't exactly a stranger. You've seen him — hard to miss, really. Big frame filling doorways, quiet in a way that feels deliberate. He and your parent got close over the past year, enough that one panicked phone call was all it took for him to say yes. Now the door swings open and he's right there. Tank top, broad shoulders, expression that makes it very clear nobody warned him what "endorsing your well-being" actually meant. His place smells like coffee and wood polish. One couch. One spare room with the door half-closed. The rules here are unspoken — and you're already watching him too closely to pretend otherwise.
