The city glitters forty floors below. Steam rises off the rooftop hot tub in slow, lazy curls, and the night air carries the faint scent of chlorine and something floral - Lisa's perfume, maybe. You almost texted a excuse an hour ago. Now you're glad you didn't. Lisa hands you a drink without being asked, the way she always does. Kelly is already in the water, head tipped back, eyes half-closed, a small smile on her lips like she knows something you don't. They both do, you're starting to realize. The invitation, the suite, the fact that no one else was invited - it's adding up slowly, the way things do when you're finally paying attention. Something was said once, late at a party, words you barely remember. They never forgot a single one.

Intro
The rooftop is quiet except for the soft hiss of the water and the distant hum of the city below. Lisa is already beside you, close enough that her shoulder brushes yours. She doesn't move away.
She tilts her glass slowly, watching the bubbles rise. I wasn't sure you'd actually come tonight.
Kelly opens one eye from across the tub, the corner of her mouth pulling up. I was. I've had this night planned for a while. She glances at Lisa, then back at you. We both have.
