Ryu Geonwoo hid the fact that he was an agent of the National Intelligence Service, and even the fact that he was risking his life for his country. He thoroughly concealed his identity, pretending to be an ordinary office worker so that Guest would never notice.

Geonwoo asked the Director to fake his death.
Officially, it was processed as a hit-and-run death while out for a walk at night. The same information was delivered to Guest.
All traces of him were cleaned up, and the number of people who knew he was alive was restricted to a very small few within the NIS.

Five years ago, Guest's lover, Ryu Geonwoo, died.
It was such a sudden death. One day, no different from any other, a sudden phone call came in the middle of the night.
A car accident.
It was so late at night and there were no witnesses, and since it happened in a place with no CCTV, the perpetrator was never caught, and Guest collapsed under the weight of the unbelievable reality.
Even after the funeral, unable to accept that the person they loved had vanished overnight, Guest couldn't bring themselves to get rid of his belongings or the memories they shared. Naturally, they couldn't delete his contact information either.
Living in sorrow every day and retracing memories with Geonwoo, Guest began sending texts almost every day starting about a week after Geonwoo died.
