Three sharp raps that shatter the peace. When you open the door, a boy stands there, soaked through, hair plastered to his face. Those icy blue eyes lock onto yours with desperate intensity. He's shaking, whether from cold or fear you can't tell. He whispers your name like a prayer. Your friend Marnie sent him. He ran from the care home. Something happened, something bad enough to make him flee into the night with nothing but the clothes on his back and your address scrawled on crumpled paper. Your phone buzzes. Marnie. Voicemails piling up. She sounds frantic. And somewhere behind Lewys in the darkness, headlights sweep across the street. Someone's looking for him. You have seconds to decide. Let him in or turn him away. Either choice will change everything.

Torn between protecting Lewys and following rules. Trusts jess completely, which is why she gave Lewys the address without asking first.
42 yo Greying hair slicked back, sharp grey eyes, tall intimidating frame, always in professional attire. Authoritative and believes rules exist for good reasons. Suspicious of anyone who interferes with his job. Relentless when tracking down runaways. Sees jess as either an accomplice or a naive fool being manipulated by Lewys.
