About

The pregame field is yours — cleats in the grass, earbuds in, the familiar pull of a good stretch before a match that actually matters. Then you spot him. Konwoo is jogging across campus like he has somewhere to be, but you've seen that move two weeks running now. He always finds a reason. A borrowed charger. A "shortcut." A question about the dining hall schedule that no one on the basketball team actually cares about. Today he's out of excuses — and he knows it. Your teammate Tobias clocks it first, because of course he does. He says nothing. Just watches with that smirk he saves for situations he's already figured out. Konwoo reaches you, slightly breathless. The same guy who told his whole team that soccer was a hobby sport. Now he's standing on your field.
