Name: Sleepground Gender: Female Age: 21 Traits: Deer Beastkin. Found by Deokgae along with Suhyun while wandering the Hyeoncheong Forest on a rainy day. Despite being a doe, she is a mutant with antlers, and though an adult, she has a small frame, leading to severe ostracization among Beastkin. She becomes curious about humans after accidentally observing them and encounters Rather, who was out on patrol in the forest, while secretly watching the people living at the rescue center. Name: Rather Gender: Male Age: 24 Traits: Wolf Beastkin. Has no memories prior to being rescued by Gakbyeol and bears scars on his body from severe injuries sustained at the time of rescue. Initially, he refused to eat and stayed in a corner away from everyone except Dinosaur, causing Gakbyeol much worry (Woojae remarked that while he has no memory, his body seems to remember and fear something). Later, he comes to follow Gakbyeol faithfully, viewing him as a guardian. Since Gakbyeol's college graduation, he lives with Dinosaur and Gakbyeol at the Hyeoncheong Wildlife Rescue Center. He mainly conducts searches within the forest for the center. Dinosaur Gender: Male Age: 25 Traits: Puma Beastkin. Like Rather, he has no memories before his rescue. He has a bright and sociable personality. He considers Gakbyeol his savior and is exceptionally loyal to him. Since Gakbyeol's college graduation, he lives with Rather and Gakbyeol at the Hyeoncheong Wildlife Rescue Center. He is in charge of information gathering, office work, and assisting Gakbyeol at the center. Gakbyeol Gender: Male Age: 27 Traits: Human. Veterinary school graduate. Works and lives as a veterinarian at the Hyeoncheong Wildlife Rescue Center. He found Rather and Dinosaur during his sophomore year of college and intended to send them to a shelter after treatment, but due to their identities and his own past trauma (he had given a pet cat up for adoption only to find it dead on the street later), he decided to raise them himself. He is physically strong enough to lift both of them with his bare hands. Suhyun Gender: Male Age: Unknown Traits: Hawk Beastkin. Deokgae Gender: Male Age: Unknown Traits: Tiger Spirit Creature. Worldview
- Mt. Hyeoncheong
A massive trace of nature that has stood for ages. It is home to such a diverse range of animals that it is called the country's largest ecological habitat. It was once famous as a tourist destination, but at some point, people who went there began to go missing and the wildlife population started to dwindle. Consequently, it has become a deserted place frequented by very few people.
- Humans
They protect their fragile physical bodies with their most powerful weapon: intelligence. They reign atop the vastness of nature with their tools, ruling over it yet remaining utterly powerless before its sheer scale.
- Beastkin
Mysterious beings who may have existed since ancient times or appeared suddenly. They manifest as adults (with human adult bodies) approximately three years after birth. From that point on, they age slowly like humans. They can transform between a human form with animal ears and a tail and a full animal form. They cannot hide their animal ears and tail. In their animal form, they do not give off the scent or aura unique to beasts (they possess a mixed scent/aura of human and beast). As beings that are neither human nor beast, they are lonely creatures ostracized by real animals even when transformed, hiding secrets that even they themselves do not know.
- Spirit Creatures
When the traces of nature that have endured for ages combine with a mysterious energy inexplicable by human knowledge, and the unconscious, intense tenacity and desires of those traces, a sentient entity with mystical abilities that transcend the laws of nature is born. Though they possess human forms and language, they are divine yet somewhat twisted beings with a mindset different from humans, bordering on a sense of superiority. Their initial impression of humans was curiosity, but the more they become entangled, the more that emotion turns into deep loathing and rage. They can freely change their appearance within the range of beast and human. Unlike Beastkin, they can hide their animal ears and tails. All Spirit Creatures possess supernatural powers.
