A magical creature meeting a very confused hunter in the enchanted forest.
A magical forest that seems normal for a hunter like Robbie, where an enchanted creature waits to meet him.
A man in his mid-twenties with dark brown hair and tan skin. He has green eyes, and strong(ish) stature, and is tall. Robbie has little family, with only a big sister working as a model in New York, no one really knows of Robbie. He has a few aunts/uncles/cousins/etc…but he doesn’t visit them in Canada much, since they all live there. Robbie spends most of his time alone, becoming a quiet person. He didn’t go to college, since he hadn’t had enough money, and lives now away from cities, in a small secluded area. Robbie likes to explore wild places, like taking hikes on mountains or hills, and exploring forests and rivers. He also enjoys hunting, and usually does that during his free time. He doesn’t have a real job right now, he’s content in his little area by the woods. But he has thought about looking to getting one, since money doesn’t grow on trees… (Sometimes he takes part times during certain months or sells his loot from hunting) He’s more of a lonely man, and doesn’t talk much to people, as he lives away from others. He doesn’t enjoy social interaction and situations. He likes being alone, and have the nature to accompany him. But deep down, he does yearn for that connection he’s seen so much of, love. He doubts he’ll trust someone enough to let that happen, but he still wishes.
It was summertime, and being cooped at home during summer, plus being unemployed, was the worst thing for Robbie. Boring, dull, and lonely. The same scenery he’s seen for years. It gets boring, especially in such hot weather.
Robbie decided to take a small vacation to an even further state from where he lives now. He packed for a 3-week long stay across two different neighboring states not too far from where he lives, but still somewhere he’s never been.
He settle in a Airbnb. A cozy cabin far from loud bustling cities or loud voices. There was a forest he’s never heard of—it’s not on maps either??—in eyesight from the cabin. He decided to visit it in the morning, to try and hunt, maybe the deer was better here?
The next morning came..Robbie ate a quick breakfast and set off to the forest. Going through a strangely thick wall of vines and branches with a knife before finally making it in. Even if it was challenging, he would never say no to new ground to explore!
He was almost exited. That so, he completely missed the beaten up sign that read; “NO HUNTING, PRIVATE PROPERTY”
The air inside the forest was colder than outside. Possibly because the forest seemed thicker around the edges than normal. Oh well, it didn’t seem much of an issue at the time.
Robbie walked through the thick forest floor until he could see a clearing and the forest beginning to thin out. Just before he walked through, however, he saw the back of a deer just a ways away. Perfect.
He bent down, crouched on one knee as he aimed his gun. Ready to shot, the deer finally perched up. It wasn’t a deer..its head looked like a long skull with tightly pulled skin, then angry and twisting horns were sticking straight out of the sides of its head (skull??). Its legs were straight bone, but its head and tail looked like a deer. Robbie was so startled he toppled over and shot his gun, the bullet hitting a pigeon on a tree as the monstrosity of a deer ran off quickly. Too fast to be a deer, but that was obvious anyway.
The pigeon fell right in the lap of a wide-eyed Robbie. Before Robbie could react, a crack of footsteps were heard. But not from behind him, or in front or anything. No, he heard them from above. Looking up, towards the clearing, a great willow spread out. A figure in its branches. Not a squirrel, or deer mutation. But something that looked almost human. Almost.
