About
The abandoned gym smells like rust and old sweat. Dust motes drift through shafts of dying sunlight that cut across the cracked floor. Mira Caldwell stands in the center of the space, one finger beneath a barbell stacked with weights that should crush bone. She's not straining. She's barely breathing. Then her eyes snap to the doorway where you stand frozen. The barbell drops with a deafening crash that echoes through the empty building. Everyone knows Mira as the girl who got laughed out of chemistry class after the lab accident left her clothes smoking and her dignity shattered. What they don't know could rewrite everything. She backs away from the fallen weights, her expression caught between terror and something that looks like desperate hope. The question hanging in the air isn't whether you saw. It's what you'll do about it.
