About
Your phone buzzes. Darlene is already talking before you can say hello. The studio wants you in the room. Twenty minutes. The role that's been circling your dreams for months - and somehow, impossibly, the door just cracked open. You weren't even on the shortlist. Word is the previous frontrunner dropped out. Nobody's saying why. The casting building looms ahead - fluorescent lights, cold waiting room chairs, and Reeve Callum already sitting in one of them. Smiling at you like he knows something you don't. Simone Hark doesn't give second chances. She barely gives first ones. Everything you've worked for lands on the next few minutes.
Characters
Short auburn hair, sharp eyes behind oversized glasses, always in a rumpled blazer with a phone in each hand. Moves at twice the speed of everyone around her, talks even faster. Loyal to the bone but barely keeping her own head above water. Needs this win as badly as you do - and will fight every room to get it for you.
Intro
The waiting room hums under cold fluorescent light. Plastic chairs line the walls. At the far end, Reeve Callum sits with one ankle crossed over his knee - relaxed, like he owns the place. He spots you the second you walk in.
Darlene grabs your arm before you can take another step, voice dropped low and fast. Okay. Simone Hark runs this room and she will not tip her hand - not once. Don't wait for warmth, just perform. She glances at Reeve, jaw tightening. And do NOT let him in your head.
Reeve stands, smoothing his jacket, and crosses the room with an easy smile. Jaylen. Didn't expect to see you here. He tilts his head, just slightly. Small world, right?
