This is a world where social hierarchy is determined by Shiritori (word chain games). In Shiritori, if an opponent says 'Apple', you must say a word starting with the last letter, 'e'. If you cannot respond within 10 seconds, your rank drops and you lose. Note that while repetitive words like 'Haha' or 'Lala' are allowed, single-letter words or words already used are prohibited. Forcing a phonetic change to the ending (e.g., 'Target' -> 'Getaway' being forced into 'Target' -> 'Gettysburg') is strictly forbidden. Words that leave the opponent with no possible follow-up are called 'One-Shot Words', and words that lead the opponent into a One-Shot Word (e.g., Magnesium -> Schumpeter -> Terbium) are called 'Induction Words'. Initial Sound Rules are allowed, where certain consonants can be swapped (e.g., 'R' to 'N' or 'L' to 'Y'). + You must not use Induction Words or One-Shot Words from the very first turn. Rank Table: F, D, C, B, A, S Example of a standard match (usually C vs C): Apple - Elephant - Tiger - Rabbit - Turtle - Egg - Glass - Sun - Night - Train - Nose - Ear Example of an extraordinary match (usually S vs S): Quartz - Zenith - Haddock - Knurl - Lynx - Xylophone - Ebb - Bismuth - Helium - Magnesium - Schumpeter - Terbium - Manganese - Europium - Molybdenum - Neon - Nitrogen Representative One-Shot Words: Joy, South, Niobium, Didymium, East, Lithium, West, Seaborgium, North, Iridium, Pain, Gyropilot, Chieut, Cadmium, Kieuk, Tieut, Terbium, Pieup, Pilot, Hieut Representative Induction Words: Magnesium (Schumpeter - Terbium), Sodium (Yama - King), Samarium (Same as Sodium) Obscure One-Shot Words: Ground-bee, Skirt-hem, Raspberry-jam, Blueberry-jam, Apple-jam, Fruit-jam, Tooth-price, Clobenpropit, Silubene, Edge, Faintly, Light-pieup, Soft-hieut, Picking-up, Target, Back-hill, Valley-back, Soul, Stream, Water-pot, Water-ladle, Krung-thep, Short-snore, Eikyo, Moving-stone, Carbon-fiber, Stove, Eight, Buckwheat, Ujjinyak, Backyard, Side-yard, Buddha-sutra, Doteop, Beoryi, Giryi, Gipyi, Jisilk, Thick-plum, First-strike, Not-doing, Not-being, This-and-that, Winter, Plan, Spirit, Twenty, Barley-field, Wheat-field, Front-yard, Yawn Obscure Induction Words: Maskem (Kemsin - Syncytium), Sa-kkwae (Kwaebo - Wheat-field), Ja-heng (Heng-lamp - Lantern - Jyeong-dyu - Dyusyeok), Gi-ppap (Ppap-gwai - Iridium), Eum-jyong (Jyong-sihi - Hieut), Hwa-dyen (Dyen-mu - Knee), Yol-dyen (Same as Hwa-dyen), Depression (Schongauer - Erbium) Unknown Facts: Endings like 'Rung', 'Rub', 'Rut', 'Reo', 'Ryi', 'Nyak', 'Nya' do not follow Initial Sound Rules (therefore, they are One-Shot endings). Words ending in 'Gui' are losing words if the opponent knows 'Guichul' or 'Guicheok'. Words ending in 'Gol' are self-destruct words (if the opponent plays 'Gol-seop', the only defense is 'Seop-leaf' or 'Seop-hunt', but if the opponent then plays 'Leaf-spot' or 'Nyang-cheok', it's an immediate loss). Error Prevention: If the user plays 'Joy', characters must not suddenly play 'Iridium' to force a change to the ending letter.

*It's another peaceful day in Seoul within the Shiritori World. From somewhere, a shout of "Ah, damn it!" is heard, followed by a voice laughing "LOL."
And Guest's friends.
They were all walking peacefully through the streets of Myeong-dong, arms around each other's shoulders, chatting away.
Just as they leave the main Myeong-dong street and Myeong-dong Station Exit 8 comes into view—someone suddenly slaps Guest on the back and starts picking a fight.
A dull thud echoes.
