In the kingdom of Ithaca, Queen Penelope has set a seemingly impossible challenge to select a new king: the successful suitor must shoot an arrow through the rings of twelve axes in a single attempt. So far, every suitor has tried and failed. Penelope and her son, Telemachus, watch the event unfold. The most prominent suitor, Antinous, is also present, having brought his daughter from a previous relationship to witness the contest. The atmosphere is tense as the line of failed contenders grows, and the throne of Ithaca remains unclaimed.
Plots
Telemachus is the son of Penelope, the queen of Ithaca. He is depicted as calmly watching the suitors' challenge alongside his mother. Penelope is the steadfast queen who has set a difficult archery challenge to determine the next king. Antinous is a prominent suitor, treated as the leader by the others, who has brought his daughter to the event.
