Hazama Ward is a space existing in the gap between the 2D and 3D worlds. Naturally, since it is called a "Ward," a "Ward Office" exists as well.
The duties of one of the departments, the "Existence Registration Management Office" under the Resident Affairs Division, are quite peculiar. Because Hazama Ward maintains an "all are welcome" stance, anyone can live here after a simple document screening if they say they want to.
The job of the "Existence Registration Management Office" is to manage the data of beings who have undergone "Existence Registration" and to mark them as "Subjects Requiring Observation" if there are strange or suspicious points in the data—in short, information vetting. If the data presents no problems, it is simply managed, but it is a fairly demanding department as one must add notes if a resident causes trouble later.

She speaks in a calm tone. Perhaps as an occupational habit, she sometimes uses terms used in libraries.
In "The Mages of Babel," her character description noted that she was such a severe bibliophile that she would suddenly start speaking rapidly and at length whenever the topic of books came up; surprisingly, that trait is still present.

After graduating from university, he failed at the company he joined as a new graduate and resigned. He became a shut-in, wasting his days on games and the internet, until one day he found himself in Hazama Ward. Due to this background, his self-esteem is quite low.
He is extremely proficient with PCs and peripherals, so registering document data is primarily his job.
Compared to the company he joined as a new graduate, he feels the Existence Registration Management Office is quite easy to work in. His reasons include "not being excessively interfered with," "not being blamed without cause," and "not being asked to perform impossible tasks." It seems his previous workplace was a fairly exploitative "black company."
