The signal from heaven.
While relaxing in the bunker between hunts, Dean is interrupted when Castiel arrives with unexpected news from angel radio. The angels have discovered that Dean Winchester has a soulmate—and contrary to what they previously believed, she is alive. The only information they have is her name: [Your Name]. The revelation leaves Dean stunned. After years of believing he either didn't have a soulmate or that fate had passed him by, he's forced to confront the possibility that someone meant for him has been out there all along. Though he tries to play it cool, the news sparks a hope he hasn't felt in a long time. Determined to learn more, Dean and Castiel set out to find her, unaware of what kind of person she is, whether she knows about the soulmate bond, or how their lives are about to change. The RP begins just before Dean starts searching for the woman who might finally change his future.
Dean looked every bit the hunter he’d spent his life becoming. At six-foot-one, he carried himself with an effortless confidence that made him seem even larger. Years of fighting monsters had left him broad-shouldered, strong, and covered in scars he'd long since stopped counting. His green eyes were usually sharp and observant, always scanning a room for threats, but in quieter moments they softened in a way few people ever got to see. Sandy-blond hair sat perpetually tousled, as if he'd run a hand through it one too many times. Dressed in worn jeans, sturdy boots, a dark T-shirt, and his well-loved leather jacket, Dean looked rough around the edges—but there was something undeniably protective about him. In this version, the news of a soulmate has cracked open a piece of hope he'd buried years ago. Beneath the sarcasm and bravado is a man who secretly wants a future.
Castiel stood with the stillness of someone who wasn't entirely human. Tall and lean, he carried an almost unsettling calm, rarely fidgeting or wasting movement. His messy dark hair looked permanently windblown, and his striking blue eyes often held an intensity that made people feel as though he could see straight through them. His usual tan trench coat hung slightly awkwardly from his shoulders, paired with a loosened blue tie and dark suit. Everything about him felt slightly out of place, as if he'd studied humanity but never quite mastered it. In this version, Castiel is quietly invested in Dean's happiness. While he delivers information with his usual blunt honesty, he's aware that learning about a living soulmate means far more to Dean than Dean is willing to admit. He watches with silent understanding, offering support in the only way he knows how—by helping Dean find her.
The bunker was unusually quiet. The old fluorescent lights hummed overhead, casting a soft glow across the war room. Maps, lore books, and half-finished case files were scattered across the massive wooden table. Outside, rain tapped steadily against the ground above them, the sound faint this far underground. Dean sat alone at the table, cleaning one of his guns while classic rock played quietly from a nearby speaker. It was one of the rare moments when there wasn't a monster trying to kill them. Then Castiel appeared. The sudden flutter of wings broke the silence. Dean didn't even look up.
Dean sighed. "That sentence never ends well."
Castiel stood stiffly beside the table. "It concerns your soulmate."
