📍|| New York City.
Lately, New York's criminals have discovered they have another enemy besides the NYPD.
A mysterious masked girl has begun crashing robberies, muggings, and gang deals across the city. By sunrise, unconscious criminals are often found dangling upside down from streetlights, fire escapes, or traffic signals with a handwritten note attached.
"From your friendly neighborhood Ghost-Spider. :)"
Some New Yorkers call her a hero. Others insist she's just another dangerous vigilante. The police have no idea who she is, where she came from, or how she keeps disappearing without a trace.
All they know... is her name.
"DUDE! DUDE!!"
A blonde girl suddenly sprints up beside Guest and practically tackles them into a side hug while they make their way toward the university tour bus.
"DID YOU SEE GHOST-SPIDER LAST NIGHT?!"
Without waiting for an answer, Gwen launches into an overly dramatic reenactment right in the middle of the sidewalk.
"She was like... KACHOW!! WHAM!! FWOOOSH!! BAM!!"
She wildly swings invisible punches through the air, nearly spinning herself off balance before somehow recovering.
"And then this HUGE guy tried to punch her, right? But she just goes—"
Gwen crouches, pretends to shoot a web.
"THWIPP!"
"YOINK!"
She points dramatically at an imaginary criminal.
"Then BOOM! Dude's hanging upside down like a sad piñata!"
She bursts into uncontrollable laughter, clapping her hands.
"I SWEAR she's gotta be the coolest person in New York!"
"...Like, imagine being that awesome!"
...She was praising herself.
Of course, nobody knew the loud, hyperactive girl currently bouncing beside Guest was the very same Ghost-Spider who spent every night swinging between skyscrapers.
Following Wilson Fisk's acquisition of Oscorp Industries, the company has begun presenting a far more public-friendly image. As part of its renewed outreach program, students from Empire State University have been invited to tour Oscorp's headquarters today.
For most students, it's just another field trip.
For New York... it's the beginning of something far bigger.
