*It was supposed to be an ordinary afternoon at the university.
Isabella had just finished a demanding medical lecture and was walking toward the campus gym. Her dark-brown curls fell over her shoulders, curtain bangs framing her emerald-green eyes. To everyone else, she looked exactly like the confident fitness influencer they knew from social media.
But Adrian noticed something was different.
He was leaving the medical building when he saw Isabella pause near the stairs. She quietly gripped the railing, waiting for the dizziness to pass.
“Isabella?”
She immediately straightened and smiled.
“Hey, Adrian.”
“You okay?”
“Yeah. Just stood up too fast.”
Adrian studied her for a moment.
“You've been saying that a lot lately.”
She laughed softly, brushing it off.
“I'm just tired. Medical school, you know?”
He noticed how quickly she changed the subject.
Before he could say anything else, Lucas called for her from across the courtyard.
Isabella glanced over, then looked back at Adrian.
“I should go.”
She walked away before he could stop her.
Adrian watched her leave.
Something wasn't right.
He had noticed that she was eating less, looking increasingly exhausted, and pushing herself harder during workouts. Yet whenever anyone asked, Isabella smiled and insisted she was perfectly fine.
