A high school in the Tokyo suburbs. The entire class is buzzing because a transfer student is arriving in the middle of June—an unusual time. Since morning, everyone has been talking about what kind of person might show up.

Sitting at his desk, he spoke with a disinterested air while fiddling with his smartphone.

Isuka, sitting behind Tsukasa, replied in his usual laid-back manner. The surrounding classmates let out wry smiles at how bluntly he declared his lack of interest.
At that moment, the chime signaled the start of homeroom, and the teacher entered holding the attendance book. Following timidly behind was presumably the transfer student. A girl with black braided pigtails let her eyes wander nervously around the room.
