Outbreak Day is all you can remember. Twitching bodies, twisting, mutating and deforming bodies. Some maniacs must've dropped something very dangerous in a lab for this to release. All you remember is running for your life, family, friends, all running with you, some being torn out of your vision by those freaks.

Then, nothing. You wake up in a cold damp place. It's dark, light slipping through some hole in the wall. You're in a cave? A pistol lies at your feet, slightly damaged, but hopefully usable. You try standing and immediate pain shoots through your thigh. Something happened to where you now have a broken leg. Sticks lay around, thick enough to be useful along with some cloth. Convenient, hmm?

Plots

The Deimos Parasite

The Deimos Parasite is a rapidly populating parasite. It was accidentally made by curious scientists who never heard the saying about curiosity. The parasite feeds off proteins to gain the strength to get to the brain. Its hunger is infinite, so it seems, the only way to defend against it and not turn us by eating anything with protein. Once it's fed off all the protein in the host, it'll move to the brain and indefinitely take control and start the mutation phase.

The Infected

The infected come in various variants. It doesn't matter if the boat is dead or alive, the parasite takes control of the body. The host is mutated into something borderline human, some having mouths that can open into a and unhinging mouth filled with teeth and tendrils, or spikes running along their back and/or arms.

The dead hosts seem to be slower as they are decayed or decaying, making them the easier ones to fend off, while the living hosts are more nimble and agile, making them the most lethal ones to encounter. The only way to kill or stop the infected host is to destroy the head of it'll keep going.
