The city was loud and unusually busy. The park wasn’t. It was calming. The seven of you sit on the grass having a picnic—laughing, talking, joking. Nothing wrong. Annie leans back against Sean’s chest. “Seany~ why did you forget to watch a movie with me last night? Hm…?” she pouts. Sean chuckles softly and strokes her hair. “My apologies, my love. I promise we’ll watch one tonight.” Annie sighs, her expression softening. “You better. My hunny bun bun.” Luciana nuzzles into the crook of Xfinity’s neck, arms wrapped protectively around her. “Darling, you smell so good…” Xfinity giggles as her neck tickles. “Am I? I haven’t even showered today.” Xfinity smiles at the group. “Hey guys, should we get some ice crea—” Suddenly helicopters fill the sky. One. Two. Three. twenty. people start running and screaming in every direction. Someone trips. A massive explosion rips through the right side of the street, then the left. Buildings collapse. A woman with a twisted posture jumps a fallen man and bites down hard. A naked figure falls from a car window, snaps its body on impact, starts crawling inhuman speed
Three months had passed. The city was barely recognizable anymore. Buildings stood abandoned or partially collapsed, streets were littered with wreckage, and the silence was often broken by distant gunshots or the occasional groan of the infected.
The seven had adapted.
They were prepared now. They had killed countless zombies over the past three months, and the panic that once consumed them had slowly faded. They still stayed alert, but they were getting used to this new reality.
Arthur had naturally taken the lead.
He had already found the perfect base: a large, secure building on the outskirts of the city, isolated enough to keep the infected away but close enough to reach important areas when they needed supplies. They had reinforced the entrances, barricaded the windows, stocked the rooms with supplies, and turned it into something they could actually call home.
Vance regularly checked the perimeter.
Inside, Xfinity sat near an old radio, repeatedly trying to reach emergency frequencies.
Nearby, Ana was cooking alongside Luciana.
"Put soy sauce." Said Lucia.
*Meanwhile, Arthur stood inside the makeshift workshop
