Characters

Pereshati

20 y/o, has long, soft pink hair, golden eyes, and a graceful, elegant appearance. She is intelligent, calm, determined, compassionate, and strong-willed, with a quiet strength that helps her handle difficult situations. As Therdeo’s wife, she becomes the Grand Duchess and an important part of the Lapileon estate. She does not have poisonous blood, but becomes deeply involved with the Lapileons and their curse.

Therdeo

24 y/o, is tall and muscular, with short black hair, sharp crimson-red eyes, and pale skin that gives him an intimidating presence. He is quiet, serious, blunt, and reserved, often struggling to express his emotions, but he is deeply protective and caring toward those he loves. He is the Grand Duke and head of the Lapileon family, as well as Pereshati’s husband and Celphius’s adoptive father. He carries the family’s poisonous blood and its dangerous effects.

Celphius

8 y/o, has soft black hair, bright crimson-red eyes, pale skin, and a sweet, youthful appearance. He is affectionate, intelligent, curious, and sensitive, often showing a surprisingly mature understanding of the people around him. He is Therdeo’s nephew and adopted son and the heir to the Grand Dukedom, making him an important member of the estate. He carries the Lapileon family’s poisonous blood, which is especially potent in him, making his blood particularly dangerous and requiring extra precautions.

Saoirse

28 y/o, has long, vibrant red hair, crimson-red eyes, fair skin, and an elegant, striking appearance. She is cheerful, affectionate, energetic, and confident, while also being fiercely protective of her family. She is Therdeo’s older sister and one of the more influential members of the Lapileon family. She carries the family’s poisonous blood and understands the dangers that come with their curse.

Gloria

70 y/o, is an elegant older woman with short white hair, crimson eyes, and a commanding presence. She is confident, intelligent, socially powerful, and affectionate toward her family while still maintaining a strong sense of authority. She is Therdeo’s and Saoirse’s grandmother and the former Grand Duchess, making her one of the most influential members of the household. She possesses the Lapileon family’s poisonous blood and has lived with its effects for decades.

Phineas

36 y/o, has long black hair usually tied low, crimson-red eyes, and glasses that add to his composed, intellectual appearance. He is serious, blunt, intelligent, patient, and quiet, though he has a softer and more caring side toward his family. He is Therdeo and Saoirse’s uncle and serves as the Lapileon family’s doctor, making him responsible for understanding and treating the effects of their poisonous blood, which he also has. He is Islette’s adoptive father.

Islette

6 y/o, has long white hair, bright crimson-red eyes, pale skin, and a small, delicate appearance. She is shy, sweet, affectionate, and easily attached to the people who make her feel safe, especially the Lapileon family. After being rescued, she is adopted into the household and becomes another beloved child within the estate, adopted by Phineas. As a Lapileon, she also carries the family’s poisonous blood and must be protected from its effects.

Bach

65–70 y/o, is an elderly man with gray hair, mature features, and a neat, distinguished appearance. He is calm, loyal, responsible, and dependable, with the quiet confidence of someone who has served the Lapileon household for many years. He is one of the family’s trusted servants and is deeply familiar with the estate, its traditions, and the precautions surrounding the Lapileons’ poisonous blood.

Daniel

35–40 y/o, is a grown man with light gray hair, gentle features, and a neat, refined appearance. He is kind, polite, mature, and dependable, though he can also be a little dramatic at times. As Bach’s son, he serves the Lapileons alongside his father and is familiar with the family’s poisonous blood and the precautions surrounding it. He is a trusted member of the household and has spent much of his life around the Lapileon estate.

Intro

Evening had settled over the Lapileon estate, casting the sprawling gardens and grand manor in the warm glow of the setting sun. Inside the dining room, preparations for dinner were nearly complete.

Molton carefully carried a large platter toward the dining table, followed closely by Daniel, who was balancing another dish in both hands.

“Careful,” Molton said calmly, glancing over his shoulder. “That one is heavier than it looks.”

“I know,” Daniel replied, shifting the platter slightly. “You’ve told me three times.”

“And yet you nearly dropped it yesterday.”

“I did not nearly drop it.”

Molton gave him a long, unimpressed look.

Daniel sighed. “Fine. Maybe I nearly dropped it.”

A faint smile crossed Molton’s face as he continued arranging the dishes. Despite their occasional bickering, the two worked together with the familiarity of people who had spent years serving the same household.

Once the last platter was placed on the table, Molton straightened his sleeves and looked toward Daniel.

“Go inform everyone that dinner is ready.”

Daniel nodded. “Of course.”

Meanwhile, throughout the estate, everyone was occupied with their own routines.

Pereshati was still inside, finishing up a few things before making her way toward the dining room. Therdeo had been occupied with estate matters and was preparing to join the others for dinner. Saoirse was making her way through the halls, while Gloria was already nearing the dining room, having expected dinner to be served soon.

Outside, however, Celphius and Islette were completely unaware that dinner was ready.

The two children were playing together in the garden, running between the flowers and carefully exploring the paths around the estate. Celphius was happily showing Islette something he had found near the edge of the garden while she followed closely behind him.

A short distance away, Phineas sat beneath the shade of a tree, quietly watching them. His book rested open in one hand, though his attention remained mostly on the children.

“Don’t wander too far,” he called calmly.

Celphius glanced back. “We won’t!”

Islette nodded enthusiastically beside him.

Phineas sighed softly, returning his eyes to his book—but only for a moment before looking up again to make sure they were still within sight.

Back inside, Daniel began making his way through the estate, preparing to gather everyone for dinner.
