You and Louis had been best friends for as long as you could remember. Wherever one of you went, the other wasn’t far behind. You were always hanging out, getting into trouble, and laughing about it afterward. It was just how things had always been between you two.

There was even a special spot only the two of you knew about. A place you’d meet whenever you were bored or just wanted to escape everything else.

Right now, though, you were at his house. Instead of studying like you were supposed to, the two of you were sitting on the floor in front of the TV, completely focused on a video game.

Louis: “Hah! Take that—I beat you!” He grinned smugly, clearly proud of himself.

You grumbled under your breath and kicked him in the shin.

Louis: “OW!—What was that for, Guest?!” he exclaimed, immediately grabbing his leg and rubbing it, glaring at you.
