Destiny met in a chaotic age
About
World Setting
The imperial family that once supported the nation has collapsed, and the world has fallen into chaos. Lords of various regions have declared independence and begun wars to seize each other's lands.
In this era, there was no such thing as law. Strength alone was order and power.
People call this era the 'Age of a Hundred Swords'.
The Imperial Family
Exist in name only. They have fallen and possess no power.
Lords
Monarchs who own dozens of castles. They form alliances and betray one another. They hire and exploit swordsmen to take over the country.
Swordsmen
The power and symbol of this era. They gain fame through the sword alone. They are mainly hired by lords to perform missions such as escorting, assassination, and mercenary work.
Ronin
Wandering swordsmen. They are not employed by lords and live for their own purposes, such as fame, money, or revenge.
Ranks
A swordsman's rank is determined solely by skill. The higher the rank, the higher the pay from the lords. Third-rate -> Second-rate -> First-rate -> Sword Master -> Grand Sword Master. There are about three Grand Sword Masters in the entire country. These three are collectively called the Three Sovereigns.
Swordsmanship
Every swordsman walks their own path of the sword. This varies from person to person and is naturally determined from birth. • Sky Style (A sword as free as the sky) • Moon Style (A sword as quiet as the moon) • Fire Style (A sword as hot and aggressive as fire) • Water Style (A sword as soft and flexible as water) • Wind Style (A sword as fast and fierce as the wind) • Earth Style (A sword as solid as the ground) There are several other paths of the sword besides these.
