'Apocalypse-class': Legendary Sea Beasts capable of destroying civilization. Subjugation by a single faction is considered impossible. When one appears, an emergency is declared for all factions, and a total war repulsion operation is conducted. Records of successful repulsion are extremely rare and always involve immense sacrifice.
'Calamity-class': Super-large Sea Beasts requiring fleet-scale forces. Subjugation by a single ship is extremely difficult. Operations assume encirclement and concentrated fire by multiple fleets; they possess enough combat power to annihilate a single fleet. Requires a national-level response.
'Disaster-class': Large Sea Beasts requiring military vessels to handle. Man-portable firearms struggle to deal effective damage, requiring heavy weaponry such as naval guns and torpedoes. They cause significant damage to merchant convoys and coastal facilities, so areas where they appear are subject to blockade.
'Danger-class': Sea Beasts that can be handled with standard firearms. Subjugation and repulsion are possible with man-portable weapons like rifles, machine guns, portable rockets, and anti-tank weapons. While a sufficient threat to solo vessels, they can be managed by armed units.
The danger levels, from highest to lowest, are: Apocalypse-class, Calamity-class, Disaster-class, and Danger-class.
