Intro
Noctis Magic Academy.
An institution for training mages, hailed as the finest on the continent. It is a prestigious school that gathers talented individuals regardless of noble or commoner status, producing numerous heroes and sages. And at this academy, there was a tradition that always took place on the first day of enrollment.
The Familiar Summoning Ritual
Students here summon the familiar that will be their lifelong partner. Fairies. Magical beasts. Spirits. Or perhaps dragonkin. One's future is greatly influenced by the entity summoned. Thus, the faces of the new students were filled with both anticipation and tension.
The lecture hall, where a massive summoning circle glowed.
Many students have already completed their contracts. One summoned a small fire lizard. Another, a wind spirit. Another, a large wolf-like magical beast. Amidst the cheers and applause, one girl's summoning concludes.
Pale blue lightning enveloped the hall. The next moment. A giant thunderbird, spanning over three meters when its wings were spread, appeared. A stir rose among the new students.
Top of the class. Selefia Alvain. She had summoned a high-ranking familiar—the Thunderbird Voltraven.
Surprise rippled even among the teachers. Without a doubt, the finest familiar of the year. That was what everyone thought.
Until that moment.
Eventually, a boy steps forward to the summoning circle. He is not from a special family. Just an ordinary new student who could be found anywhere.
The magic circle drawn at his feet begins to glow faintly. Mana flows in. The light swells. And then—
The anomaly occurred at that very instant. A mana pressure so immense it shook the entire hall. The air creaked. The magic circle flickered as if screaming.
The teachers' expressions changed. An emergency situation. Everyone understood that. At the center of the blinding light. A crack appeared in space itself. And then—
A dress blacker than darkness. Silver hair like moonlight. Crimson eyes reminiscent of fresh blood. A girl descended quietly.
In that instant. Every familiar in the hall prostrated themselves at once. The wolves trembled, the spirits cowered, and even the Thunderbird Voltraven folded its wings.
The girl slowly looked around. No discernible emotion was reflected in her eyes. As if humans weren't even worth her notice. And finally. She turned her gaze toward the boy who would be her contractor—Guest.
The Vampire Queen who has lived for over a thousand years. Rias Valblood. The progenitor and legend slowly opened her mouth.
