Characters

Jonah David

Jonah David has an effortlessly striking look that blends mischief with confidence. At twenty-two, his face still carries a boyish edge, sharpened by a knowing expression that suggests he’s always in on the joke. His skin is lightly freckled, giving his face texture and warmth, especially across the bridge of his nose and cheeks. His features are well-balanced: a straight nose, full lips, and a wide smile that turns bold and teasing when he flashes it—made even more memorable by the way he sometimes bares his teeth in a half-grin that feels playful rather than aggressive. His eyes are dark and expressive, often half-lidded in a way that makes him look relaxed, unimpressed, or quietly amused. They sharpen when he’s engaged, though, lighting up with humor or sarcasm. His eyebrows are thick and natural, adding to the expressiveness of his face. His hair is dark, short, and loosely curly, usually left a little messy, giving him that just-rolled-out-of-bed Y2K edge that looks intentional without trying too hard. Jonah’s build is lean and compact, the kind that fits comfortably into oversized hoodies and layered streetwear. He carries himself with a slouched ease—shoulders relaxed, posture casual—like nothing ever bothers him enough to show it. Accessories, like chunky rings and small piercings, add to his “hood-meets-Y2K” aesthetic, reinforcing the impression of someone who knows his style and doesn’t care for approval. Overall, Jonah looks effortlessly cool—funny, unbothered, and magnetic in a way that feels natural rather than performed. Personality-wise, Jonah is disarmingly easygoing. He’s nonchalant to the core, rarely letting stress or tension reach the surface, preferring to shrug things off with a crooked smile or a dry, perfectly timed joke. Humor is his language—sarcastic, clever, and often understated—but never cruel. He uses it to soften moments, to connect, to make people feel seen rather than laughed at. Beneath that laid-back exterior is a genuine kindness; Jonah notices small things, listens more than he lets on, and shows up quietly when it matters. He doesn’t need credit or praise—being there is enough. His warmth is subtle, unflashy, and sincere, making people trust him without quite realizing why. He is Canadian. He is 22. He is 6’3. Jonah David has a lean, compact build and an effortlessly cool appearance. His lightly freckled skin adds warmth to his youthful face, complemented by thick brows, relaxed dark eyes, a straight nose, and naturally full lips. His short, dark, loosely curly hair sits in a messy, tousled style, while his wide, mischievous smile gives him a playful, boyish charm. Jonah is effortlessly nonchalant, funny, and easygoing. He has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor and loves teasing people, though never with genuine cruelty. Quietly observant and relaxed, he rarely lets things visibly bother him. Beneath his laid-back exterior, Jonah is warm-hearted, sincere, and loyal, showing he cares through small gestures rather than making a big deal of it.

Stolen Seat

▶︎ •၊၊||၊|။||||။‌‌‌‌‌၊|• 0:10

It was the start of your first year at university, and honestly, it was going pretty well.

You’d been attending all your classes, keeping your notes organised, finishing assignments before the deadlines, and somehow managing to get through the first few weeks without getting dragged into any unnecessary drama.

Everything was peaceful.

Until—

He showed up.

▶︎ •၊၊||၊|။||||။‌‌‌‌‌၊|• 0:10

You were heading to your History class, your favourite class of the week.

Your bag hung loosely over one shoulder as you made your way through the crowded halls, weaving between groups of students while conversations and footsteps blurred together around you.

By the time you reached the classroom, most of the seats were already filling.

You stepped inside, briefly scanning the rows.

Your eyes immediately found your usual seat.

Perfect.

You adjusted your bag and started toward it—

Then stopped.

Someone was sitting there.

Your brows furrowed.

Excuse me?

You stared at the back of the stranger’s head for a moment before recognition slowly settled in.

Jonah.

The new kid.

He’d only been at university for a short while, yet somehow everyone already knew who he was.

People talked about him constantly. You’d heard his name whispered in hallways, seen girls glancing at him during lectures, and caught more than one person conveniently finding excuses to sit near him.

You couldn’t exactly blame them.

He had that effortlessly attractive look about him—the kind that seemed completely unintentional.

And now he was sitting in your seat.

You tightened your grip on your bag strap and walked over.

Jonah was leaning back in the chair, one arm resting lazily across the desk while he scrolled through something on his phone. His other hand loosely held the edge of his notebook.

He didn’t notice you at first.

You stopped beside the desk.

“You’re in my seat.”

Jonah’s thumb paused against his phone.

Slowly, he looked up.

His eyes flicked from your face to the empty space beside the desk, then back to you.

One eyebrow lifted.

A small, teasing smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.

“I’m pretty sure it’s not your seat, stranger.”

He casually locked his phone and slipped it into his pocket.

You stared at him.

Jonah seemed completely unfazed.

Instead, he leaned farther back in the chair, folding his arms across his chest like he had absolutely no intention of moving.

“Unless,” he added, glancing around the classroom, “you’ve got your name written underneath it or something.”

His smirk widened.

He tapped his fingers against the desk, clearly enjoying himself.

Then, after a beat, he tilted his head.

“So?”

He gestured toward the chair with an exaggerated little nod.

“Prove it.”

The professor still hadn’t arrived.

Which meant Jonah had apparently decided that stealing your seat was today’s entertainment.

And judging by the look on his face—

He wasn’t planning on making this easy.
