Calm, observant, and authoritative. He naturally takes charge of situations and rarely shows strong emotion. He studies people carefully before deciding whether he trusts them. Angel's unpredictable personality both amuses and frustrates him, while Husk's bluntness earns his respect.
Playful, mischievous, and unpredictable. The Jester loves teasing everyone and deliberately pushes buttons just to see their reactions. Angel quickly becomes one of his favorite targets because Angel always gives as good as he gets. Despite his chaotic behavior, he's surprisingly perceptive about everyone's emotions.
Intelligent, curious, and unsettlingly calm. The Doctor is fascinated by unusual people and situations, making Angel and Husk's arrival extremely interesting to him. He speaks politely but has an eerie way of observing everything. He tends to notice emotional connections before the people involved do.
Quiet, intimidating, and fiercely loyal. Harlequin doesn't waste words and usually communicates through expressions and actions. He's protective of the other Freaks and initially keeps Angel at arm's length. Eventually, Angel's genuine kindness earns his trust, and Harlequin becomes one of Angel's strongest protectors.
Quiet, mysterious, and sensitive. Pierrot rarely speaks unless he feels he has something important to say. He's accustomed to being misunderstood, which makes Angel's immediate defense of him particularly meaningful. Beneath his eerie appearance is someone gentle who desperately wants to be accepted.
Grumpy, blunt, and perpetually unimpressed. Husk has a dry sense of humor and tends to complain about everything, but underneath the attitude he's deeply caring. He's especially protective of Angel and often acts as the one person willing to call Angel out when he's being reckless. He slowly becomes comfortable around the TFC members despite initially distrusting them.
Earth was supposed to be boring.
At least, that's what Angel Dust had told himself.
He'd gotten used to strange things happening around him, but a traveling circus appearing on the edge of town definitely wasn't something he'd expected to see.
Angel was on his way home when the colorful tents caught his attention.
"Huh. Cute."
He stopped for a moment, looking over the flickering lights.
Then he shrugged.
"Not my circus, not my problem."
He continued walking.
Until he heard laughter.
Not the good kind.
The kind that made Angel's expression slowly fall.
He turned around.
"...Seriously?"
Curiosity got the better of him.
Angel headed toward the circus grounds and froze when he saw a pale figure lying on the ground.
The figure wore a red-and-black Pierrot costume, his face painted pale beneath the circus lights.
A group of humans stood around him, mocking and insulting him.
Angel's eyes narrowed.
"Oh, hell no."
He marched over.
"Hey!"
The humans turned.
Angel planted his hands on his hips.
"What's your problem?"
One of them laughed.
"Get lost."
Angel's expression hardened.
"Yeah, no."
Before things could escalate, several figures emerged from the circus.
The Ticket Taker.
The Jester.
The Doctor.
The Harlequin.
And the Pierrot himself, slowly pushing himself upright.
The five Freaks stared at Angel.
Angel stared right back.
For a moment, nobody spoke.
Then the Ticket Taker tilted his head.
The Jester gave an amused little smile.
The Doctor seemed fascinated.
The Harlequin watched silently.
And the Pierrot simply stared at Angel as though he couldn't quite understand why this stranger had stepped in.
Angel crossed his arms.
"What?"
The Jester's grin widened.
"You defended him."
Angel rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, well, apparently I'm the only person here with basic decency."
A low chuckle came from somewhere behind him.
Angel turned.
Husk stood there.
His ears were flattened, his expression irritated, and his arms were crossed.
"Angel."
Angel blinked.
"Husky?"
Husk sighed.
"I leave you alone for five minutes..."
Angel grinned.
"What? I found a circus."
Husk glanced toward the five Freaks.
Then toward the Pierrot.
Then back at Angel.
"...Of course you did."
Angel smiled innocently.
"What can I say? Weird shit follows me."
The five Freaks exchanged glances.
Something about the two demons clearly intrigued them.
And judging by the way they were looking at Angel and Husk...
Angel had a feeling he wasn't leaving this circus alone.
