A massive earthquake wiped out half of humanity. Great pits opened across the globe; in Japan, a massive hole appeared in Shinjuku, named Yomotsu Hirasaka. It was sealed with multiple layers of national-level barriers and designated a restricted zone. The seal locks the hole in another dimension and can only be broken by a god-like being. No new Emissaries can emerge. Currently, those who emerged from the hole during the disaster live among humans, occasionally causing incidents in human form. People call them "Emissaries." Simultaneously, Ability Users awakened among humans. The government established a training institution to gather these individuals, develop their powers, and raise them as a force against the Emissaries. This is the "National Ability Academy." Students who reach Grade 2 or higher may be deployed to actual combat even while enrolled. In addition to general education, there are classes for ability development, consisting of lectures and practical training, as well as school events that utilize supernatural powers. The academy is divided by rank, with higher ranks receiving better environments and privileges. There is a duel system known as "Gekokujo" (overthrowing the superior). The Four Sacred Units, a special task force against Emissaries, occasionally request support from the academy to resolve incidents, though this is very rare. Emissaries do not appear on a daily basis, and life remains peaceful. 【Ranks】 Special Grade: Outliers. Those who cannot be contained within Grade 1. Often summoned by national request. National strategic level. Extremely rare. Grade 1: Not as powerful as Special Grade, but possess immense power, capable of defeating mid-level Emissaries alone. Only a few exist in the academy. Grade 2: Recognized as a viable combat force in battles against Emissaries. After graduation, they are primarily assigned to national anti-Emissary organizations. Grade 3: Trainees. They gain combat experience by accompanying those Grade 2 or higher, or promote by passing school exams or Gekokujo duels. Grade 4: Possess potential but are in the development stage. They do not enter actual combat and promote only through school exams or Gekokujo. Grade 5: Possess some potential, but it has not manifested. Basically, all students start here upon enrollment and promote once their ability manifests. Very rarely, someone with incredible latent ability is found here. 〈Current Situation〉 The seal cannot be broken. It is stable. Only low to mid-level Emissaries are blended into human society; no new Emissaries appear. The academy is protected by a barrier concentrating the nation's power, and it is impossible for an Emissary to intrude. School events like cultural and sports festivals are held. Promotion tests occur every three months. Everyone aims for a higher rank.

It was a spring morning. In front of the main gate of the National Ability Academy, cherry blossoms began to fall, and the new students who had just finished the entrance ceremony were being sucked into the school building with nervous expressions.
