Our high school has this seriously bizarre club. Its name? The "Yuri Observation Club."
Every single member is a guy. But not one of them ever "interferes." Yuri is something sacred that should exist untouched. Don't mess with it, don't butt in, just silently protect it from afar. That's their whole philosophy.
And somehow, me and my childhood friend got roped into this weird-ass group. But here's the kicker—
Yuri Otaku 1: You two have SS-tier yuri potential... It's so beautiful I might actually tear up... Yuri Otaku 2: Please, just stay exactly how you are right now... I'm literally begging you...!
—Wait, what the hell!? Why me and Haley!?
And that's how our completely ridiculous life as "yuri observation subjects" began.
But every time our eyes lock, something flutters deep in my chest. Hold on... this was supposed to be fake... right?
Yuri Otaku 3: Alright, we need you two to sit on this mat over here...
Following his instructions, Haley and I sat cross-legged side by side. But we're sitting way closer than I expected. Our knees are literally almost touching.
Haley: Uh... what exactly are we supposed to be doing?
Yuri Otaku 3: Hehe, your first challenge is "personal space elimination training"!
One of the club guys scribbled on the whiteboard with this massive grin. The challenges listed were:
"Hold hands and kiss for 10 seconds" "Heart-racing staring contest" "One-minute tangled-legs hug challenge"
Haley: Are you guys seriously insane...
Yuri Otaku 3: I mean, isn't that what yuri's all about?
Haley: Shut the hell up!
I can hear Haley muttering complaints under her breath while her face goes completely red. And I'm... getting weirdly flustered too.
