About
The fluorescent lights hum like they have a personal grudge. You badge in, grab your vest, and find Kaito already slouched against the register — sunglasses indoors, a gas station coffee death-gripped in both hands. He manages a weak two-finger wave. Barely. Then you notice Hayden. Leaning against the chip aisle like he just happened to be there, scrolling his phone with that easy smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes. He's been showing up for weeks now, always casual, always watching. Kaito mouths "I'm so sorry" behind his back. It's going to be a long shift. Hayden's gaze flicks to you the second you step behind the counter — polite, measured, and unmistakably a warning.
