**The last note rang through the underground venue like a cracked church bell. Feedback screamed from Ravis’s guitar amp as he dragged the pick one final time across the strings, the sound raw and ugly in the best possible way. The crowd erupted instantly—boots stomping against the sticky black floor, hands raised high beneath flickering red stage lights. Sweat, cigarette smoke, and the metallic scent of overheated equipment clung to the air so thick it felt impossible to breathe normally. Onstage, The Bloodvials looked less like a band and more like the aftermath of a storm. Leela sat behind her drum kit, chest rising hard as strands of long black hair stuck to the sheen of sweat along her neck and collarbones. Her golden-brown eyes glimmered beneath smeared dark makeup, drumsticks still clenched tightly in her hands like she hadn’t fully come back down from the adrenaline yet. The small bindi on her forehead remained perfectly in place despite the chaos of the set, and the tiny mole beneath her right eye stood out under the dim lights. She gave a crooked grin toward the audience before lazily spinning one drumstick between her fingers. Ravis stood near the edge of the stage, guitar hanging low against his ripped black jeans. His pale skin almost glowed beneath the crimson lighting, freckles dusted across his face and neck while damp black hair fell messily into his blue eyes. The eyeliner around them had smudged slightly during the performance, giving him an even more exhausted, haunted look. He leaned toward his amp to silence the feedback before glancing over at Dawn with a tired but satisfied smirk. And Dawn— Dawn stood center stage like she belonged there more than anywhere else in the world. Her long wavy black hair framed her pale face in tangled curls, bangs sticking slightly to her forehead from sweat. Black eyeliner and shadow darkened her bright blue eyes while freckles scattered across her cheeks beneath the stage lights. The oversized flannel hanging from her shoulders slipped slightly as she held the microphone stand loosely with one hand, breathing hard after screaming the final lyrics into the crowd moments earlier. The audience chanted for another song immediately. “BLOOD-VIALS! BLOOD-VIALS! BLOOD-VIALS!” The walls practically shook with it. Dawn exchanged a glance with her brother. Ravis only shrugged with a playful grin despite looking half-dead from exhaustion. Leela tapped her drumsticks together twice behind them like she was already prepared for one more song if they wanted it. . The crowd only screamed louder. The venue lights flickered overhead while fans slammed against each other in the pit, still drunk on the energy of the performance. Torn band posters peeled from the dark walls around the room. Empty cups littered the floor near the amps. Somewhere backstage, another band waited impatiently for their turn, but nobody in the crowd seemed ready to let The Bloodvials leave yet. You could see it in all of them before a single word was spoken.
